“Work should lift people up — not break them down.”
Outdated, damaging workplace practices are still everywhere. From hiring processes to daily culture, too often people are excluded, silenced, or pushed out. We are here to change that.

Why This Matters
Work is where many of us spend most of our lives — yet it is also one of the most common places people experience discrimination, lack of accessibility, or inequality.
Disabled and neurodivergent people are less likely to be hired, more likely to be underpaid, and more likely to leave jobs because of hostile environments.
Mental health is still used as a reason to side-line, dismiss, or block careers.
Outdated management styles value targets over people, causing burnout and isolation.

How We’re Creating Change
At Living Reasons, we want to prove that another way of working is possible. That businesses can succeed and employees can thrive — not one at the expense of the other.
We’re focusing on:
Challenging discrimination in hiring and promotion.
Campaigning for real reasonable adjustments, not token gestures.
Promoting fair pay, reduced overwork, and wellbeing-first policies.
Partnering with employers to trial inclusive practices via Reasons Trading Limited, our allied business.

Projects & Campaigns
Here are just a few projects and campaigns we are planning:
Fair Futures Employment Project → testing new ways of hiring and supporting staff.
Reasonable Adjustments Campaign → pushing for stronger workplace rights.
Equity in Recruitment Programme → tackling bias in interviews and shortlisting.
Workload and Pay Fairness Project → creating fair workloads, and fair pay in all roles.

The Role of Lived Experience
Our Lived Experience Advisory Board plays a vital role in guiding this work. Members share their own workplace experiences — the barriers they’ve faced, the adjustments that worked (or didn’t), and the changes they want to see.
By joining the Board, you’ll help shape our campaigns and projects, ensuring they reflect the reality of working life today.

Get Involved
Change doesn’t happen without action. Here’s how you can help:
Volunteer your time to support a campaign.
Share your story of workplace discrimination or positive change.
Join the Lived Experience Advisory Board and make sure your voice is heard.
