Guided by Lived Experience

Everything we do at Living Reasons is shaped and driven by lived experience.

Every campaign we run, every policy we propose, every employment clause we suggest, every product or service we design — all of it begins with the voices of people who know what it’s really like to face the challenges we’re tackling.

Our Lived Experience Advisory Board sits at the heart of this. This is a diverse, non-executive group of people with personal experience of disability, neurodivergence, health conditions, trauma, inequality, or caring responsibilities. They guide our trustees and departments through:

  • Group discussions and focus groups

  • Board meetings and sub-committees

  • Voting and surveys

  • Storytelling and shared experiences

This means that our work is collaborative, grounded, and accountable — ensuring that every step we take stays true to our mission and values.

Everything we do at Living Reasons is guided by our mission and grounded in our values.
We don’t just imagine a better future — we design, test, and fight for it, together.

Our Living Values shape how we work and are at the heart of every policy, campaign, project, and product we create

Outdated Employment Practices

Too many workplaces still rely on outdated systems that put profit before people. This leaves employees burnt out, excluded, or treated unfairly.

We want to prove there is a better way — where people are valued, wellbeing comes first, and businesses still thrive.

Accessibility to Services

Too many essential services — from healthcare to housing, education to everyday support — are still designed without accessibility in mind.

We want to break down barriers so that everyone can use the services they need, when they need them.

Your voice can shape this work. Join our Lived Experience Advisory Board and make sure accessibility means accessibility for all.

Limited Opportunities

Too many people are locked out of education, training, and meaningful employment because systems are not built to include them.

We want to open doors so that everyone has a fair chance to learn, grow, and work.

Your experience matters. Join our Lived Experience Advisory Board and help us design fairer opportunities for all.
